May 6, 2023 Collector Motor Series Buyer's Guide

Sold new in Covington, Louisiana, to a mechanic at Covington Motors. It is finished in a beautiful Black single-stage paint (Code A) over a blue interior (Trim Code 52), which is speculated to be the only car delivered in this combination. Completed on March 25th, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, the car was shipped to New Orleans (District Code 64). Delivered with a 4.11 final drive (Axle Code 9), this car is believed to have had a radio and heater delete. This exact vehicle marked Ford’s 41,934th car built. The original 427 engine was well-used by its original owner. Winning many drag races and competitions, and even once installed in a dirt track car, it was eventually retired and replaced by another 427 FE engine built one month earlier in February (B code). The car was purchased by a good friend of the original owner and has since been restored from the ground up. The engine was gone through, and the transmission and rear axle were rebuilt to factory specifications. The interior was re-upholstered in the as-delivered specification of blue, and the exterior was repainted in a single stage of black instead of the original lacquer-based paint.
